Great Things Are Happening On The Street Of Miracles
This past Sunday, November 23rd, saw us in the old pool hall where in the past; gambling, drinking, fighting and drugs were daily activities. That started long ago when this was a white community. Then when the Mexican community came, they too fell victim to the pool hall. Most recently gangs called it home but yesterday the roof almost came off from all the praising and singing. The building was almost full!
In Loving Memory: Maria Adela Hernandez De Medrano
It is with much sorrow that we today report the passing of a dear friend. Adela Medrano, a long time supporter and board member of FSH, was killed over the Labor Day weekend when the truck she was riding in lost control and hit a tree. Ms. Medrano was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the truck and died at the scene. Adela has served on Farmworker Self-Help's board of directors for several years as secretary and has been a friend for many years.
