This boy's parents thought he was in good health but doctors found an ear infection when he visited the clinic. When Pastor Jefferson Cox of Salem Lutheran Church in Orlando offered to bring two doctors and several nurses to hold an open clinic for the children of our community we were excited. While our clinic is open at least one day each week, it is not often that we are able to provide wellness check-ups for our farmworker children. Dr. Carl Barr and Dr. Tom Blehl saw nearly 30 patients on Saturday. Two of the children are fortunate that they came to the clinic that day. The young man pictured here was found to have a moderate ear infection and another may have a heart murmur. The doctors have arraigned for more testing to determine if the problem is serious. The parent of both children thought they were healthy and are thankful that the doctors were here as their children’s illnesses may have gone unnoticed until they had reached Pastor Cox brought the doctors and nurses as well as some of the church’s youth as part of their mission outreach. The non-medical visitors helped out by painting at Resurrection House Mission, our children’s church. On behalf of our community, we thank Pastor Cox and the congregation of Salem Lutheran Church.
